Dear Developers: Housing

Dear Devs,

Could you please consider:
Creating Instanced housing for people that don't care to be in a district, which only allows them to invite people in party or alliance to visit their lot (think ffxi mog housing but with a yard and a view) and wouldn't disappear if you didn't play.(Since it doesn't have to load if the owner isn't there it would be easier on the servers, I could be wrong)

If you did instanced housing, offer ppl who have homes in wards a one time fee to move their entire home and plot, as is, to the instanced area. This would open up a lot of houses for FC's. -Cont next post

Offer a monthly fee for district housing in case you don't plan to play. When cancelling your monthly sub, you could pay 1/4 of your normal subscription fee just to hold your home. (This would help cover the cost of the extra servers and should someone stop paying they would go to the countdown for demo)

Why have both? The instanced housing wouldn't be for FC's. A lot of people love to deck out their homes and leave them open so people can tour them and look at the genius of their creative decorating (guilty) while they aren't even on. I would honestly rather just go to an instanced housing that wouldn't demo if I decided to take a year off.

They announced plans for an apartment system that supports 520 players last week. Unfortunatley it will take some time until it's implemented (update 3.3. if I am not mistaken).

Yeah were getting a few housing updates in 3.3. Mainly more wards and the apartment system. Then I can remember correctly if someone could help out, but Ishgard will be 3.3 or 3.4?

Didn't FFXI also add some kind of additional "personal space" system at some point, beyond the Mog House? I remember there being a kind of small beach area, with other stuff you could do as well.

They said that we're getting new plots in 3.3, for the existing wards. Whether that is ward 9 and up, or an extra set of Subdivisions, I don't know.

Beyond that, they said they're working on "mansions" (confusing name, since it sounds more like it'll be apartments) and an Ishgard housing area in parallel, though "mansions" takes priority since it sounds like it'll meet demand better.

Yeah and the hard facts of what this space will involve has been ZERO. All we know for sure is that it will have no outside space since they have to redo gardening system to allow it inside these instances. We could very well be looking at Free Company rooms. Without the Free Company. Does that sound reasonable to you? Anytime SE has not given info usually means the news is bad.

They did indeed. I was still an active player of FFXI when Seekers of Adoulin hit and although I didn't get into every facet of Mog Gardens, I was really impressed with how much effort went into them at such a late stage in the game. :)
