Help!

I believe I'm on the 2.55 quests now. I'm capped on 50 of course. I was wondering if I still get the exp for the secondary quests after I complete 2.55. Should I wait till the Heavensward content is unlocked to do secondary quests?

If you're capped at 50 then you don't have heavensward on your account which will prevent you from gaining any experience past 50.

And the other way around, as long as you have Heavensward activated on your account, you're able to level past level 50 even though you haven't reached Heavensward content yet. :)

Yeah the experience is not banked at all. If you do any quests or activities that give you XP on an already capped class, you will basically be throwing that XP away.

If your account isn't flagged for Heavensward, you will not gain experience upon reaching level 50. But if you account is flagged for Heavensward, then you will gain experience in Heavensward even though you haven't finished the ARR MSQ. I have a character that I was struggling to get through the MSQ in order to access Heavensward and she ended up being level 55 by the time she completed Steps of Faith. I was also finally able to do her level 52 & 54 job quests.
