Hi. I've come to a crossroads with my monk gear and its coming down to either working to keep my SS i want or not giving a crap anymore and watching it dwindle down below 400. I asked tswo friends and one said dont care and the other said 600.
How much is needed in your opinion and why? I can understand and respect that if you find the nich where you dont have tok much to cause tp issues but enough that it helps you keep GL. But idk. Im at a loss.
As long as you can do 5 globals in your opener it doesn't matter.
It's all up to personal preference. Skillspeed inherently has increasing returns(though very little) so there are some arguments to be made to take it over determination. But in the end it all comes down to what you prefer to play with as long as you aren't gimping yourself with too much accuracy or taking only skillspeed over crit. Having certain skillspeed values in certain fights does allow you to pull off some mildly interesting things. With a skillspeed value of about 640 you can reliably hit the first add in the second phase of thordan with 10 gcds and keep GL3(if you end with a snap punch) until the next two adds spawn. Of course there are some other ways to pull this off by throwing in fracture or something of the like.
I end up feeling very sluggish under about 620 or so. And by sluggish I mean at the mercy of server tics and jitter.
Higher SS can feel nicer to play. I personally like ~600 but I've been as low as ~520 with no rotational problems. (It could probably be even lower, but my gear never really panned out that way, so I can't say I have any practical experience with lower SS @ lvl60)
TP hasn't been a problem with the current Savage fights regardless of whether I was higher or lower on SS.
The current BiS with thordan weapon puts me at 530 skillspeed but 818 crit and 5XX det. I feel like I'm constantly only catching my DK rebuff by a tiny margin, and really wished there were better ways to build skillspeed rather than replacing any BiS pieces.
I used to main a drg and found about 620 skill speed optimal.
But for monk we tend to manage tp far better so I say around 650-680 skill speed would be good as that's probs the case anyway with full 210 gear but deffs relic wep the 200-210 is mnk bis.
