I see other posts with more than 1000 characters but mine are limited to 1000 characters. What gives?
It's hard to respond appropriately on some topics if you don't have enough of a character count to respond =/

Edit your post and you can bypass the limit.
I think that the forum limitations are designed to prevent spammers from hitting the forums, that's why your number of posts are limited and the length of posts are limited. Real people will come back to edit their response or post to add whatever didn't fit in 1000 characters, but spammers generally won't. The # of posts limit prevents flooding of the forum, and the character limitation reduces the nuisance factor of any spammers that do somehow get in.
Oh thanks! I was not aware of the work around. Much appreciated.
Also because it's probably designed with Japanese in mind. Writing in Japanese, 1,000 characters can be more than enough to express what even double that count wouldn't be enough for in English.
