Achievements Reborn!
I've been thinking of ways to spice up pre-existing content so that players can have fun without the need for new content all the time. One way to help this issue is to improve the game's achievement system by adding something similar to World of Warcraft.
I am referring to the "Glory of" achievements. For those not familiar, these achievements reward titles, mounts, minions and other fluff for beating encounters under certain conditions. "Defeat X boss without any raid member getting hit by X mechanic," or "Defeat X boss in X amount of time." Usually, there is a meta that rewards for the completion of all achievements in the list, specific to a certain patch of raids or heroic dungeons.
Considering the wealth of content we already have, I feel this system could revitalize older content without it seeming like a grind, since it would add new facets to the fights. It would challenge those who like to test themselves, and reward them in a way that is visible to other players.

Some examples of achievements and rewards we could have...
- "Defeat Chimera (synced) without ever allowing it to cast Ram's Voice." Awards Wind-up Chimera
- "Defeat Titan Extreme (synced) without any raid member getting hit by Weight of the Land or Landslide" Awards title <____ the Agile>
Four man achievements would have rewards for completion of achievements in a particular meta.
- "A Realm Reborn Dungeon Master - complete all A Realm Reborn dungeon achievements listed below" Rewards "The Black Wolf" Armor
These are just some ideas that have come to me based on my experience in WoW.
I realize that this is one-time content to people who don't like repeating this kind of challenge, but if SE employs this system, it could expand every time there is new content. New dungeons and raids - new achievements - more new and DIFFERENT stuff to do.
Thoughts?

This is an interesting concept that worked well for World of Warcraft that kept players going back to do older content. I could see this being done for FFXIV, as an achievement monger (6,235 Achievement Points so far on my main.) Minion, Mount, and Glamour collector, I'd definitely go back to do some older content for some new shinies.
