Why remove PLing when it was the ONLY thing helping low levels get mid level

The xp from leves at low levels suck. The difficulty EVEN WITH gear of optimal level doesn't help vs mobs who are 1 level+ above you. How can you chain xp at low levels when the mobs rape you? I feel bad for any new player joining this game. even with the "mobs having lower hp/less attack 1-15" it's still not easy trying to level

Where are the people with those Solo awesome exp chains when you need them.

It's not hard to find mobs that are on-level with you at low levels. They intentionally added groups of monsters in the lower levells to make it easier. For instance near camp horizon there are camps with mobs 20-22, another with 23-26, and one with 27-29. Yeah, you can't chain every mob in the area, you have to pick and choose the ones your level, but it's still possible to solo chain.

The easiest solution:

Stop fighting mobs that are higher level than you, especially when you can get 200-300sp solo on mobs 2 ranks below you.


Harder solution:

Party and get 1000sp bonuses.

Hardmode FFXI style?

Mass slaughter weaker things. If the weaker things give 100exp and take 10 seconds each to kill and a same level or +1 mob takes 60 seconds and only gives 150exp unchained and makes you rest for 20 seconds after... yeah.

Not only do you get a ton of shards to make a bazillion gil, it's more efficient.

2 levels lower and get 200-300sp? what is sp? you WONT gt 200xp from ANYTHING lower than you. How about you actually play before typing

I was fine with the power lvling and then people complain to get it change and you no what they drop all this new update and now it ends at 2.0. Now we got to pay to try to catch up to the content before the world explodes. Just hate playing the catch up game! And no I had to start over because of low population on another server and was happy with the pwr lvling!

Because it was bad for the game. PL was a bandaid fix to a problem, but it's a cure that's worse than the disease.

We players will take the path of highest gain, even if it is as unfun as digging through a stone wall with our teeth. The number of people who participated in PL evidences this. In order to make a good game, the path of highest gain must also be fun.

Was anyone having fun sitting AFK soaking up EXP? Was anyone having fun running back and forth killing mobs 20 levels below them to "earn" the right to sit down as a lower level job and be PL'd by someone else while they watch a movie?

If the game isn't fun at the low levels, that's a problem that needs to be fixed. If doing the tutorial quests and their first batch of leves doesn't at least get players to the level where they can start doing the lowest tier of real content (10-15, if the new dungeon near Limsa counts), then that should be fixed.

I would be totally in favor of increasing the EXP from the starter quests to get people up to 15 in a day. I'd also be happy if I saw the EXP needed 15-40 reduced 30%. This would solve the problem that PL bandaided without forcing new players though a 15-hour hazing ritual that's worse than any part of the game.
