Are we suffering from the lack of gear slots?

Just a little thought about itemization (and a little bit about the relics also)

Imagine that the relic weapons would not be weapons but capes etc. in its own slot. These capes would be impossible to obtain any other way.

Do you think it would make the grind more acceptable?

What would you think if the number of gear slots has increased and instead of having i100 in one patch and i110 in another patch, we would got upgrade for the left side in one and upgrade for the right side in another, with the relic being in it's own slot etc.?

Basically something to make the gear a little bit longer relevant by increasing it's amount while splitting it up between the patches.
