This forum could use a poll system.

Not much to say here.

Polls can enhance discussions and allow people to compare and contrast opinions. It would also be great forum tool for SE to collect feedback with, not to mention official/unofficial forum-based voting would be more organized. There have been previous official events that used the forums to include player's opinions to judge the outcome; events in which would have greatly benefited from a real poll system. It's quite strange that we don't have one in the first place.

However, these forums have been around for quite some time, so I'm going to assume that the lack of a poll system is an intentional decision, or deemed as a non-essential feature.

While forum polls would be a good way to compare and contrast opinions of the forum-goers, it'd be a terrible tool for player feedback to the developer. As is always said when things like forum polls are mentioned, a vast majority of players never even opened the forum page once, let alone post their opinions in it. Any forum polls would consist of votes from such a small sample size of the game's subscribed players that they wouldn't mean jack.

Rather, if the developers want direct feedback from players, mildly incentivized in-game polls on the hot developer topic of the moment are probably the best way to go. Something impossible to miss when in-game.

I feel this post would be better as a poll, then we could poll everyone to see if they actually want a poll system implemented.

I'm disagree with the whole "great forum tool for SE to collect feedback with" for the same reasons that Vandril stated above, but I see no real reason that there isn't a poll system of some sort since it can at least be used in the "for fun" type threads that pop up on rare occasion. Still, as you've said yourself, the reason there isn't after being around for this long is likely a simple "because it's not necessary"....

I did it. I think there is a time limit or something.

It's vB. We can have polls, but the person who manages the forum(or people) disabled the permission for them.

With the skewed sample of the community that these forums are, every single answer to every poll would result in "moar glamour! In a pretty princess!"
