Suggestion: Piggy Back Rides

I brainstormed this a couple of days ago, and I wanted to share it:

Piggy back rides. Probably as an additional reward to people who have used the recruit a friend system. It is contextual based on the race of the two characters, and does not in any way provide any combat or movement speed buffs. If anything it should probably auto cancel the moment either character is engaged in combat.

For Lalafells piggybacking on any other race: The Lalafell rides on their arm or shoulder, a-la the Flame General and the Sultana.

For two Lalafells: Regular piggyback ride.

For any non-Lala piggybacking on a Lala: A wheelbarrow materializes (probably from Aether. EVERYTHING IS AETHER) and the Lalafell pushes the larger character around in it.

For all non-Lalafell races Piggybacking together: regular piggyback ride, except maybe Roe, which may require a wheelbarrow.

Thoughts?

I seem to recall there was a serious bug in version 1.0 not long after chocobo riding was added where it allowed players to do this very thing (actually mount another player character) - naturally it was most definitely not working as intended and quickly patched, but not before the inevitable memes were generated from it.

As cool as it would be to have as an actual feature, I... shudder to think how a lallafel would handle giving a roegadyn a piggyback (even with your wheelbarrow idea). :p

Hehe, a good place to find them is this old thread here in the 1.0 forum archive. ;) I'd post a few of my favourites from there, but that's not what this section is for. So getting back on topic...

For your idea FlyingToastr, following on from my original post, somehow the mental image of a roegadyn guy being given a piggyback by a lalafell conjures up near endless giggles. :p

since this post, i have met a roe player, and we've talked a lot, he has said that he would love to carry me on his shoulders. Make this happen SE, lol.
