FFXIV 2.0 is good and all but...

..the concern is, will the PS3 still be around by the time it comes out? I mean its 2013, the big 3 would have their new consoles announced by then...

I worked on a visual novel for the PS2 that still sold well - That's an 11 year old system. The PS3 will do fine, especially since we can guarantee the "PS4" won't have PSX, PS2 or PS3 emulation/Backwards capabilities lol.

Seeing as Sony is pushing for a 10 year cycle and they haven't even tapped into the majority of it's power, I'm pretty sure the PS3 will stick around for a while. No need to worry about that. It's not even close to be outdated yet.

wat. The PS3 capped long ago. This is 2006 (And dated for the time at that) hardware we're talking about here.

Actually it haven't -- Developers are (as of 2010) starting to fully utilize the PS3, compare release games to games released in 2010 and 2011.

I mean...the PS4 can be PS3 compatible...or they can just port it to the PS4.
