Another A3S comparison thread

Hello there. Wanted to drop by and show another viewsync of A3S Lucrezia kill vs my groups kill. Just to show the difference in instance speed. Btw, before anyone replies with a recording software response. Look at the timers please. If it was an issue with recording software the timers of the fight would be off as well. Agreed? Lucrezia's fight mechanics just happen faster over time to include the add phase. Everything in this fight is time based. There is no phase pushes or anything of the sort. Their instance is just faster which sucks for us because we lose 7 seconds during the add phase. I was wondering if I could get a response on why this is. It might sound crazy, but… What about the server latency? Since FFXIV basically verifies everything server based, might the latency difference between datacenters cause a slight delay in actions executed by the player/boss as well as the damage taken by the player/boss?

I’ve checked the videos through the “Synced”-view and i did notice that the gap between the 2 video’s was increasing slightly with each attack. So, i’ve made a few screenshots of certain frames, as shown below.

Since i could only see the Duty timer of the Lucrezia video, i’ve used the bigger timer from the Lucrezia vid to see what the gap was between each video.

At this point, the gap between the boss actions seen in both video’s are 3 seconds apart from each other. This is even before they enter the add phase. This goes up all the way to the start of the last phase where the boss casts Cascade for the first time.

Difference: 10.05s

At this time, the difference between the 2 video’s is 10 seconds. However, in the end, the gap between the “Clears” is only +/- 5 to 6 seconds. That would mean, that (in that particular phase) No Bully was catching up to Lucrezia by +/- 4 to 5 seconds.

Once upon a time, as I was young, I startet to code on my good old Amiga.

At some point, I tired to write a little stopwatch. At this time I still was very low on experience, so I've used "wait" commands to count the seconds.

While using it, I've noticed an issue: The higher the overall load of my system was, the slower the seconds got counted.

Solution: always read the hardware clock.

I don't know how they have coded that stuff into the servers. But this comparision caused a deja vu.
