Can we pls get some stat details? Speaking of things like crit rate, crit bonus, parry rate, dmg per potency, etc... something like

(I know that not every single information of the above, like elemental resistance, will make sense at FF14, but some would)
All we have now is: If you main stat is 1000 your attack/cast power is 1000. Wow, thanks for the information. ;)
Not likely. They never revealed such info in XI and that's on it's way out now.
They could, but that would expose the game as having less depth than it claims to be.
Seriously, most class get by with stats in one or two things, and some stats, like skill speed, aren't even good for what they are described for.
It's part of their attempt of making it casual friendly, the same process with not giving/allowing a parser.
In reality it just irritates the player base.
Well, at least I'd like a short info when hovering over the respective stat.
You know, hovering over parry rating reveals the chance to parry. Hovering over crit reveals crit chance and damage. Hovering over skill speed reveals the current bonus attack speed. Hovering over accuracy reveals your chance to hit/miss from front, flank and rear. All based on a target of the same level.
That sort of thing would be nice.
In XI everyone did lots of mathy math and was able to figure out that stats were based on percentages of #/255 or #/1024, when it came to raw numbers. (And due to the mathy math everyone learned that Haste % increase was the single most potent DPS increase you could get, up to maximum cap.)
XIV doesn't use that exact same system, which is why Skill Speed is not quite as powerful as Haste was in boosting DPS. And the cap is clearly much higher than 1024. Anyone know the mathy math here?
iirc there was a request for this early on and yoshi-p (or someone from the FFXIV staff, I don't remember exactly) said that they didn't see a reason to give a detailed stat effect breakdown, because "You know that if you have a higher crit stat, you will crit more". It came off incredibly condescending.Hopefully one day though, they'll realize how this info can benefit us players in mathing out our gear and figuring out thresholds.
They'll get to that a patch or two after they make parry useful.
Whatever their reasons are, we aren't likely to see information any more details than the stat tooltips. Theorycrafters, however, have given us some pretty good info.
I just don't get why they display power of attack power/magic potency at all.
It's only redundant information.. ever thought of server load?! JK, but this is really odd.
