Direct request to Yoshi-P: Please have a "Change LS Master" option before billing

Hello, adventurers.

I would like to ask the community reps here to forward an important request I've for Yoshida-san, and if possible let me know what he said.

If billing really starts by the end of November/early December – and I hope not, it seems quite a risky move in my opinion and I fear many adventurers will leave Eorzea to come back after June 2012 – I've something to ask.

Who has multiple characters will most likely delete the not used ones, as they cost 3 bucks each, and so will the Master of my old linkshell with her old avatar. When she deletes her, the whole LS will be gone, so I offered to take its symbolic leadership to preserve its name in Eorzea, as it's a good memory for its members and thus the guild will keep on living even if its old leaders are gone.

However, with a quick research it seems it's not possible to do this... yet.

I know that improvements to the Linkshell Administration are in the To-do List, but I don't know when they'll come and if this will be included. And here I'm asking for something specific, anyway.

Can you introduce an option to have a Master of linkshell promote a Member to Master role, before the billing service starts (maybe in patch 1.20?)?


It would be fair to give adventurers and old Masters the chance to pass on their old linkshell without spending 3 bucks, if they decided to start again with a new race. And I'm sure others, with the LS Master deleting the character of their old guild, would like option this to be possible.

I'll also make this request in the questions I'm writing for the future of Final Fantasy XIV Topic, so please take it into consideration!

How about linkshell management tools in general? There will be turn-over, and we're going to need to manage it.

Yes please. We need LS management as soon as possible.
As of right now, I cant even kick out inactive members.

LS UI hasn't been touched since the game has been released.

Here is a few more features it could use.
*Transfer leadership
*ability to remove offline members, to clean up the LS
*ability to add members just by typing in their name
*ability to promote or give officer privileges to someone without having them be standing right next to you.
*display members class, and location
*ability to click on a member and get move info about them classes leveled, crafts, ect
* some kind of rank/title system you can assign to members
*member notes - ability for the LS leader / officers to, have public and private notes about members.
*LS log, who was invited, who was removed by who, who left on their own
*LS news section, reports on member milestone levels/achivements. news about getting rare items ect.

I agree that general linkshell management should be available, and Yoshi-P already said they're working on it.

This, however, is a thread with a specific request: as there're no linkshell improvements listed for patch 1.20, I would like they'd introduce at least a temporary measure to be able to transfer leadership from Master to Member, for the reasons I explained above.

This is a single feature, so it might be doable in time for 1.20 even if it was not originally planned. :)

Break and reform the shell, that's the only way. As a larger shell, Abaddon has had to break and reform about 6 times now. It's not as bad as it seems. Assuming all the members want to stay as members they will come get a new pearl.

The easiest way to do it is to form a new shell while the old one is still active and move everyone over to the new shell, then break the old one.
