Translation for the 2.0 maps

After reading Yoichi's and Yoshida's statement twice, and reading the PDFs I have good faith in what Square is aiming to do, as a player and investor.

However I'm kinda at a lost for the map images, I understand these are just sections of the regions, and not the whole like we have today. But what do the markers on the map images mean. That's quite a bit of information about the shown maps we westerners are missing out.

I'm sure there's some bilingual players in our forums.
