For the past few days I haven't been able to launch my game. I haven't been getting any error codes I simply get a "Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working prompt" when I try to interact with it. It opens and is completely white or black but when I click on anything I get the message. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game as well as restored my system to a restore point. I'm lost on what to try now any help will be appreciated. And I am not computer savvy at all. I run Windows 7
Make sure to launch as Admin...one of the more common things causing issues. Right-click the shortcut and you should see an option to Run as admin. If this resolves it you can set the option to always launch as admin on the advanced properties for that shortcut (right-click, properties, Advanced button).
We've also seen security updates cause false-positives in the past. Have you tried stopping Windows Defender, Antivirus, Firewall, etc.?
If turning a security feature off remedies it, then we can look into adding an exception to bypass it just for XIV so you can keep your security active for everything else.
Unfortunately neither of those things worked, but thank you for the ideas.
