I should be able to glamour two-handed staffs to one-handed staffs.

Goes for BLM and WHM. There's currently two-handed and one-handed weapons... which the support for one-handers pretty much ended with Leviathan. (even sooner for BLMs)

However, there's still one-handed primal weapons for both classes. These are crafted (ex Levi for WHM), and look pretty awesome... and are currently completely dormant because we cannot glamour our Lunaris Rods into Inferno Cudgels.

I, for one, do enjoy the idea of having a small cudgel as my black mage conduit over a clunky big staff. Any possibility SE could accommodate us there? Hoped it was the case when multi-slot gear was "fixed" to work as glamour...!

First off there is no one handed staffs, they are wands completely different weapon type.

I don't agree with glamouring 2 handed staff to a 1 handed wand and vice versa. Would be like glamouring a lance onto a sword completely different weapons, does not make any sense.

No, it wouldn't. They'd have to remake every animation for your example, whereas the wands already have animations for the skills. I don't play DoM, but +1. It would be nice to get similar things for Ninjas with the ability to glamour two different daggers, but I know that's never going to happen, ever. :(

But it's OK to the game to glamour my Kujo Kai into a Storm Elite's Scepter, but not into a Weathered Scepter. It's NOT OK to change my Birch Rod's appearance to an Old World Rod's, even though they're both rods. It's the same weapon, right?!

It's ~MAGIC~, it doesn't need to make sense.

For casters, the animations for both types are exactly the same. What's the problem there?

While that's awesome for people who just want certain styles, it's not the same for me.
I'd rather use a wand cause it's smaller. Why bother having wands/scepters at all if all we ever get to use is staves?
Just remove them & reintroduce them later with jobs that will actually utilize them like you did daggers for GLA/PLD.

I was told that the wand/shield thing for blm/whm was basically a relic of 1.0 (because shields had their own skills tied to them or something?) and they haven't bothered removing the items, but they're only adding 2 handed staves from here on out.

Just gonna comment here that this is entirely true. Shields were their own class called Sentinel and could only be used as a "sub class" for GLD, THM, and CNJ. During 1.0 it was removed and all the skills were rolled into GLD directly, but leaving THM and CNJ with the ability to equip shields but no associated skills.. This was all done in prep for Jobs (specifically PLD) being added.

I honestly blame it on XIV's poorly change job system. No one can deny that XI allowed for many great setups and looks despite not having a glamour system and being a 10+ year old game.

SE should link the Job change to just the Soul Gems and have the 1.x/2.x Classes use one wep type. I know they have a limited staffing and time frame but this is getting a bit redundant with all these limitations they use as a scapegoat.
