Samurai should be a base class split between Shogun, and Ronin. One should me DPS, and the other should be tank. There is no generic samurai, there were many different kinds in history, and I feel that this should be explored. Let\\'s end the DPS vs Tank argument and just do both.

I have to disagree with calling it a Shogun, a Shogun was a high ranking military commander. A more fitting term would be a Bushi, Bushi would make sense as the tank and Ronin could be the dps variant.

I agree with the concept of this. I think they should have Samurai work like Arcanist. Have a base job of Samurai that is a DPS, and then at lv. 30, introduce two jobs. Progression as a DPS would give you the Ronin job, and progression as a tank would give you the Bushi job.

Like PLD become a real Dual wielder or DRG becoming a spear tank (which I would have loved). BLM and WHM should have been joint together as well. AST could have had red mage or blue mage tied to it or something along those lines. DRK would have made an awesome great sword dps that channeled darkness.Quote:

But to do this SE would have needed to make the job quest start at level 10 - 15 instead of level 30 but that's an easy fix. They can still make this happen and wow it would be epic if they did.:cool: I would start a new character :D -

Samurai would probably be a job, based on the way job names have been going. It would likely be the tank branch, with the possibility of parivir for DPS. Base class would be kenshi or something similar.

While we're at it, can we have a sage support class with buffs to TP, damage reduction and many many heals over time? :D
