Can we make this not at all a possibility? Please? :( If there is only one party in the zone, don't make the mobs designed for more than one party come out. Spent ages getting a wisent to 60% before an add spawned near one of the players and killed us off.
At that point it was just decided to gather or leave. Not really what you want. Even though I do like gathering in Diadem, it shouldn't be done because we're forced into it due to lack of parties.
I had this problem one night, where other parties had been in the instance for many minutes before we zoned in (long enough for two groups to get flight unlocked...) and then at the end when we were dealing with a tough group, including adds, the other parties on the island with us started despawning one by one. It left us to finish off that pack and we just couldn't do enough damage as one party in the final 10 minutes. Heck, we could barely out-heal the damage tanks were taking. We would have been better served wiping and gathering as you did.
Sucks, eh? We never had any other parties in our instance from minute 0 to minute 90.
I haven't done Diadem for the last few days. Is it dying down with all the ridiculous gatherers/AFKers problem that's going on? That might explain not seeing anyone around. It's also possible that there were people, but only small FC parties due to the time. I'm fairly confident that the system counts those small parties as full, due to the player cap in each instance, so it counts a group of 2 players from an FC (for example) as a full group of 8 to avoid problems exceeding the player cap.
I think it was more the time of day. Had much better sessions with loads of parties (at one point struggling for credit due to so many) later on, killing multiple wisent/brontos.
Ive had this problem too, To Be Honest its unfortunate, but the best way to deal with it is to just leave the star alone and farm mobs again to get something easier, I absolutely love seeing that guy reck face :P
In regards to the "leecher" problems, I started building a LS for trusted Diadem farmers, Also putting a disclaimer in the PF for leechers/ rule breakers to be black listed and it seems to be working well, Rarely get leavers and if your consistently looking out for the people you usually join in PF or creating your own groups and getting recognised with in your Diadem community you rarely tend to get problems. just a few tips :)
