Summoner and Beastmaster in Ver 2.0?

If you look at the development notes, it says that summoning and npc taming will be included in 2.0, alongside some new jobs.

Sounds like Summoner and Beastmaster to me.

It also mentions that you will summon Primals. Which is currently just Ifirit, but will soon be Moogle, then Garuda, and eventually Odin. Probably includes Leviathan too, since they have concept art for it.

The important thing for me is that there will be a progression for the pets. Is this why there is a chocobo fighting in the screenshot!?

I just read an interview on GamerEscape and they confirmed that summoner and beast tamer class will be added to the game and that it may even be before 2.0. One of the ideas was to perhaps even make summoner the job for the beast tamer class.

They mentioned that the beast tamer class pets will work the way they did in 11, which is you tame them, fight with them, then send them on your way and the summons will get certain abilities based on your summoners lvl.

As for the chocobos they will have a lvl up as you feed and use it.

Nice to see two new jobs/classes coming. Shame they are my least favourite two. Corsair pls.

How I understand this, you can get a summon card as drop if your party kill a primal. You can use the card only once, then you need to kill the primal again to farm the card. It's like a one-shot trump card ^^

Summoners get spirits to summon and like all othe classes can't summon primals without a card, because primals are gods .

And I'm 100% okay with this idea. My only problem in the past with Summoner as a class was the idea that they would be leading the Primals around like pets.

Pretty much this but summoners will be able to summon spirits and summons(not the same as the primals/gods) like carbuncle.

You may not see Corsair but Musketeer at least has been on the "to be added" list since launch. I mean hell, the guild is already in Limsa lol.
