bought game on north american SE store but im in Australi

i understand that the activation code wont work?

what should i do? buy again from Aussy SE store?

You can make a NA account. If you chose Australia as your country of origin when you registered your account, the game will not work. So you can just make another account and set the origin to NA.

Unfortunately due to some weird licensing issues, your country of origin cannot be changed once set. Also, there are some downfalls by using an account that has a different country of origin as your own.
1. You cannot use Australian credit cards to maintain your sub. Though some pre-paid credit cards do work (tested in Japan, not sure about AU).
2. Game time cards will also NOT work, as Australia/NZ probably uses the same or similar codes to EU.
3. You cannot purchase games from the NA store using the account as SE Online Stores are account/region locked. So if you plan on buying a Expansion package, you will need someone in NA to do it for you (International credit cards work).
4. You cannot enter any competitions (legally). For example, a contest held in the NA forums require you to have a NA account legally live in the NA region.

Assuming it was bought digitally and the code is not yet used, you may inquire with the Pepita/Square Enix Store's Customer Service and explain the situation.
If it was a retail copy and its unopened, you'll likely be able to return it if you contact them.

Otherwise the best you can do, is sell the code on ebay or to a friend in the US. And re-buy the game through an AU retailer.

Yeah SE lists us as EU (which is odd since we're usually put as NA with every other game unless it's recognised that we're neither EU or NA but OCE :P)

oh no it was actually the 10-dollar ffxi package on the SE NA site.

returning to ffxi now. damn though au site has it for 40 bucks lol
