Dreadwyrm Trance rotation question.

I play SMN as my main DPS and wanted to see what other SMNs use in Dreadwym Trance.

My rotation for Dreadwyrm:

Raging Strikes>Dreadwyrm>Tri-Disaster>Contagion(if using Garuda)>Ruin III spam>Deathflare with about 1-3 seconds left on Dreadwyrm Trance.

Is this the proper rotation? Is there something else I could be doing to increase DPS? Should I start using INT potions?

My ilvl is around 180. I haven't really been focusing on gear for SMN yet. Mostly because I need to tank or heal for FC members. But mostly tank. So that's where my Esos are going. I do, however, have the SMN Eso weapon. So my next questions are:

How many Ruin IIIs should I be trying to get off?

What's a good spell speed for SMNs running stuff like Alexander HM and Void Ark?

- Hit/Spam Contagion during the Ruin III spam. Pet abilities don't interrupt your casts, and Contagion doesn't need to be hit right away, as long as it activates before your DoTs fall off.

- Aim to get at least one Fester during DWT (2 ideally). Typical method is Ruin III > Ruin II > Fester & Deathflare

- No. of Ruin III's? I'm thinking 4 including a Swiftcasted one but I'm not too sure atm.

- Don't worry about Spell Speed. It does have an impact on DoTs but is reported to be so minor it might as well be non-existent. Crit and Det remains the best stats for SMN.

So one of the things you can do to increase DPS is to put a Ruin 2 before every OGCD ability and weave at least 2 inbetween each Ruin 2
So your rotation would look like this
Ruin2 -> Raging Strikes -> Dreadwyrm -> Ruin 2 -> Tri-Disaster -> Contagion -> Ruin 3 spam ->Ruin 2 -> Deathflare
The other thing is if this is your opener you will have three stacks of aetherflow going in and ideally want to throw a fester in during the dreadwyrm trance.
My opener looks like this atm
Put shadowflare on the ground slightly in front of the boss just before pull
Bio 2 -> Miasma -> Bio -> Fester -> Rouse -> Spur (sometimes it's possible to get three abilities off in between but not always) -> Ruin 2 -> Enkindle -> Ruin 3 or Ruin depending on length of fight -> Shadowflare -> Ruin 2 -> Raging Strikes -> Fester -> Ruin 2 -> Painflare -> Aethrflow -> Ruin 2 -> Dreadwyrm -> Tri-Disaster -> Ruin 3 until 5 seconds remain on dreadwyrm -> Ruin 2 -> Swift Cast -> Fester -> Ruin 3 -> Deathflare.

If you have aetherflow stacks available for use during trance, you will ideally want to use raging strikes, enter trance, throw out tri-diaster as soon as possible, hit Fester once DoTs are up, Ruin 3 spam, contagion during a cast, and use Fester again before Deathflare.

You also can combine Trisaster with Contagion via a macro – never tried it myself but i know several SMNs who work with this macro especially for DW.
