Lord of Verminion - mouse cursor doesn't work properly in gamepad mode

Steps:
Was doing tutorial for the Lord of Verminion, having gamepad mode enabled in character configuration menu. I tried to play with a mouse however The Lord of Verminion cursor won’t accept input from the mouse. I can only move the cursor with analog stick on my controller.

Gamepad Manufacturer: Sony
Gamepad Model Name: dualshock 2

I hope it’s not intended because it makes it hard to play the mini game with a mouse.
