Statues on Azys Lla Flagship (... spoilers?)

I put spoilers on this because as an FF6 fan, I'd have been upset if I hadn't found out about the Warring Triad on my own.

But have any of you guys noticed anything different about them after 3.1? I could have sworn they were golden statues ... yet when I go up there now, they're covered in moss with plant life growing all over them. Could this be a little hint as something that's to come next patch? It seems to be common as of late for SE to hide little details like Alexanders pre-summon, and the Void Ark getting closer in the distance as time went on.

My guess is that the statues are a fake. Similar to how the gold statues near Thamasa in FF6 were also fake, while the crude stone ones in the Floating Continent were the real Triad.

Just curious what you guys think, or if it's just in my head.

(Also not sure if this goes in Lore or not; it's not so much lore as it is noting an in-game difference)

Yep, the statues are crumbling, they are going to be free soon.
