Was I wrong about tie i70 gloves from the Ixal vendor?

I was under the impression that these gloves allowed me to use the special crafting stations involved with the daily quests. Seems that this is not the case. Still a nice upgrade for my newish crafter.

I think you might be mixing up the Ehcatl Wristgloves with the Ehcatl Smithing Gloves. The Ehcatl Wristgloves is a FREE item given when you first took up Ixali, and you have to wear it to do your daily quests. The Ehcatl Smithing Gloves is purchased with Oaknots, and it CANNOT be used to do your Ixali quests. It is, however, a very useful ARR end-game item that could substitute a fully melded Artisan's Mitts. It has the same amount of control except lacking 3 CP. You can potentially use the Smithing Gloves for leveling in HW, all the way to lvl 55+. I personally used the Artisan's Mitts all the way until lvl 60, and it was quite sufficient to HQ things.

While I like the gloves, I guess I'm slightly disappointed that they couldn't be used. When I first heard about them, I thought they would be functionally the same as the starter gloves, but with better stats.

I see what you mean... I had that hope before as well... I was like "YAYYY, from now on my Ixali dailies would be CAKE-EASY!"... Then --> oopsy.... wouldn't let me craft with those green gloves...
