Spoilers of The Maiden's Rhapsody FFXI, I can't believe this, XI and XIV crystals

The being known as Selh'teus told the player of XI said there are MORE then one mothercrystal! A quote

"I am. I will become the crystal itself, I could gather energy from countless crystals across eons and eons, yet even that would not be enough.
"Mothercrystals are living, breathing things much like we are. Magic is their blood, their very heartbeat, they are not simple shards of rock. I must become one with the crystal for this plan to come fruition

They are also in a place that's beyond time.

In the video Iroha is reaching out to her master and is being pulled into a crystal, that crystal pulls her to *OUR* world of eorzea, THAT crystal is hydaelyn, another reason why she couldn't go home after the event ended, Hydaelyn(the mothercrystal) won't let her go back cause all mothercrystals have the final say so in anything. Hydaelyn is the mothercrystal of *our* world/plain of existence.

She is in our world permanently and will never get return back to Vana'diel, her new tale/story is in eorzea now. THAT there is how we are gonna get the samurai class, a class and teachings that will be passed down to us "The player" from another worldly character that comes from Vana'diel with skills unknown to our world.

This also explains the reason with lightning coming to our world with the lightning event and shattoto coming to our world with her event, that our worlds are somehow linked. THE MOTHERCRYSTALS ARE DOING THIS!(well besides shattoto, she used her strong black magic to come to our world)

Wow, you guys are good, really good how you made the lore of XI mix in with XIV silently and any other world for that matter.

What do you guys think about this? how do you feel that our worlds are linked to any of the final fantasy worlds since there are more then *ONE* mothercrystal. What possibility could the devs have with this? what events or new characters could come to our world?

I think you're reaching a bit.
And by a bit, I mean a lot.

The mothercrystals in XI are Dem, Holla, Mea, and Vhazl, as well as the displaced Al'Taieu. Sehl is referring to the dimensional shift caused by the damage to Al'Taieu's crystal. He's essentially reviving it. They have nothing to do with Hydaelyn.

I think you need to go back and replay CoP! Don't worry, it'll be worth it, the story is very good.

I may be reaching abit but what about the lightning event? how shattoto came to our world, how Iroha came to our world. Hydaelyn is also a mothercrystal, all mothercrystals live behind time itself. Whos to telling how many are out there.

The original crystal from which all others was born was depicted in Final Fantasy IX. The worlds being intangibly linked is already kind of a given.

Cyril is right, if you actually know anything about FFXI's storyline, Vana'diel's Mothercrystal was actually split into five pieces an indeterminate amount of time before FFXI's storyline. Hydaelyn has absolutely nothing to do with it other than simply reusing the name 'Mothercrystal' (which actually isn't really used that much in FFXIV - usually it's just called 'the Crystal' or 'Hydaelyn'). It's just a fanservice reference, nothing more.

Also all FF worlds are very vaguely and indirectly linked via the Void. But, having said that, each FF game is it's own unique world separate from each other - SE themselves confirmed this ages ago (in a thread that was found here but has since disappeared):

Shantotto accidentally ended up in Hydaelyn because she screwed up a spell (the same one that kick-started her FFXI add-on pack A Shantotto Ascension. She stated this specifically during her event's dialogue and even name dropped the add-on pack's title. It had nothing to do with the Mothercrystal. As for Iroha, the exact mechanics for her appearance in Hydaelyn is never explained, she just... materialized here and it was kind of handwaved away as 'magic'. I think the development team doesn't want you to think too heavily about it and just enjoy it for nostalgia. ;)

If you're hoping that SE will be running crossover events frequently, well, apart from hints that a FFXV event may be occurring, I wouldn't hold your breath - these sorts of events take a lot of resources to develop, which could be better spent elsewhere on the game, and thus would only really be reserved for occasional special occurrences (this event after all is to coincide with FFXI's storyline being wound up - why else did the event start on November the 11th?).

Amazing, simply amazing, now I won't get surprised or not understand how another character from another world can enter our world now. This just excites me, there's no telling who can come to our world.

Thats, really sad. Then how do you explain about the lightning event? how shattoto came to our world, how Iroha came to our world. Something has to be linked *besides* the void itself. And they still haven't explained this. It maybe a separate world but still, how the HECK did Iroha come to our world and can not leave it? how she flew into that crystal of that video and appeared in ours.

Lightning's world had Time being all screwed with, anything that bad is bound to have wierd things happening. Shantotto is just that good (and hey, Black Magic and Void go along well enough), and Iroha...the fact that she hasn't gone back yet could mean we'll see her again (which may also explain how she came to Eorzea beyond just magic). Probably not, but possibly.

Also don't forget that Gilgamesh is still the same one from V, and his mode of dimension hopping involves the void.

*SIGH* Thats, makes me quite sad, lore matters alot to me, randomly breaking glass cause of *reasons* and not wanting me to look further into it saddens me.

Dualblade has the right of it, but to add to it - Shantotto has knowledge of spells that allow a person to travel across dimensions, she specifically states this during the original FFXI crossover event, and it was the spell that she mucked up in FFXI which started her add on pack storyline. Lightning ended up in Hydaelyn because the god of the FFXIII mythos Bhunivelze sent her there specifically to train her as preparation to become 'the saviour' in Lightning Returns ~ FFXIII, again this is clearly stated during those events. And Gilgamesh is a traveller of the Void who shows up in other FF worlds by mastering how to travel it (no thanks to X-Death banishing him there at the end of FFV).

Really, I think you're looking for something that isn't there Pinkie Pie. FFXI is not connected directly with FFXIV. They are separate worlds with separate storylines.
