Botany, Mining and Fishing - Quick Question

Really quick question, have been googling this for around 20 mins now and just can't find the answer.

What is the name of the ability you use to obtain the materials that are needed to socket materia, and which of the gathering classes have it please?

Also any links you can provide to an up to date information resource with this information would fandabulous.

Thanks, still can't seem to find out how to obtain it though. I see hints of it being questable in the search returns, but the posts I open show nothing :(

it's the skill to get catalysts from gathering.

Catalysts can be obtained via gathering. The type yielded varies depending on the gathering point.

Find NPC Mutamix located in central Thanalan (29,20). With him are other NPCs that will trigger every quest for Materia.

same place where u can get the quest for turning gear into materia, and affixing materia to gear
