I've been able to use a Duel Shock for the PS3 since launch.

Motion Joy drivers are a thing.

the PS4 controller was already plug and play. just needed to change the CFG file around.

other than that. motionjoy for the PS3 controllers

SCP > motionjoy, if you ask me.

Recommend InputMapper, specially if you are using blutooth, the nice thing is that the light changes base on the controller battery. I do say in advance from time to time it unconfigures the button mapping, but it's just to go into the configuration and remap it.

I will second this recommendation. I used to use MotionJoy but it always had issues. So I started using InputMapper and it is 100 times better.

I never needed special drivers to use DS4 on PC. Maybe for other games, though I never tried, but DS4 has always been plug'n'play for FFXIV (with some remapping), even through Bluetooth.
