So do i understand it right if i don't go into my house for 45 days i could get bet 80% of the gils that i paid for the land but if i want to give up my plot right now i would be left with nothing?

Seems like it. It was talked about within the community about a "sell" option so as to not wait, but it looks like you would need to wait it out. Which to me sems like they should have added a "sell" or "reclaim" option, because then maybe some properties would open up faster.

That really sucks. Well then i will just not enter my house anymore till i will be able to collect my gil since i'm hoping to swap to a M size house.

You could just "sell" the land relinquishment rights on the open market right now.
Put a PF stating you want to sell the plot, and you will probably get a buyer if your world, like many, already has all plots full.
