Dev Clarification Needed: Weapon/Armor Log?
In previous Live Letters they talked about implementing some form of a Weapon / Armor log and acknowledged they had plans on implementing it but were deciding which method to use before doing so.

A: We've currently finished off a lot of the details, but we have to plans for implementation, we've been estimating the amount of work for each. The first idea would simply have players
building a collection of weapons and armor, while the second idea would allow players to read the lore surrounding the gear they obtain. However, this data will affect the player data used in real time, so we are carefully investigating this at the moment. Next week we will reach a conclusion and proceed for actual implementation,
but if we decide to go with the first idea it will be implemented in patch 2.4. In the case we decide on the second option, it will be implemented a bit further in the future.In any event, we've progressed quite a bit on this and we will have our verdict soon enough.
But in the recent Live Letter we have this:

A18: Yoshida: We have no plans for this. We would increase the inventory space if this was possible.
Now those can be two very different things. One I can see as more for completion and other things, while the other one specifically mentions glamour. Are we still getting a Weapon/Armor log for completion or some other means?
Should we just get rid of all the old gear we have since this isn't going to be implemented anymore?
I have been saving nearly all my Unique gear and in doing so have needed to buy 2 additional retainers since Heavensward came out. If we are not going to get any kind of Weapon/Armor log that is used for collection purposes I can freely get rid of all my old gear which means I would NOT have to buy the 2 additional retainers.
