unspoiled nodes question

I just turned 50 and had been putting all my energy into that so I've also been ignoring the unspoiled nodes until now. I was trying my second of these which was in Coer West.

So I did Toil and SZ2 (because one was hidden). I swung once, got my yellow ore, went to swing again and the node disappeared.

Does anyone know why it disappeared? I didn't exit it nor was I interrupted. I didn't accidentally bring up my menu or anything of that nature. My chara was in the process of swinging the second time so it wasn't me.

Nodes are only active for a limited time. (3 (Lv 50 stuff) / 1 (Lv 50+ stuff) Eorzea hour)

Not sure what happens if that window closes while you are mining it, but it might be the reason why it bailed on you. ;)

Maybe that was it. I was just unlucky enough to get there when the window closed. Ah well. Thanks!

Heavensward nodes actually are up only for 55 Eorzea minutes (2:45 real time). Too often I had nodes yanked out from underneath me when I was finishing a final collectible gathering.

The upside to this is that HW unspoiled* nodes are up twice every Eorzea day, offering two opportunities to gather every 72 minutes.

* - Ephemeral and Folklore/Legendary nodes follow their own ruleset, despite some similarities.
