So can we ask for the 2 hour lock-out to be removed already?

The two hour lock-out for airship missions seems ridiculous.

Assuming we are able to coordinate a day for 24 of our FC members to be on to do voyages at the same time, and we clear a run in an hour, why waste another hour of everyone's time before we can go in again? Even if groups take the full 90minutes, its still a guaranteed 30 minutes of standing around doing nothing.

If someone needs a quick break, we can give it to them. We don't need to wait at least 30 minutes, probably closer to an hour.

Honestly this reminds me of the 1.0 era of primal lock outs. The fact they mentioned in the live letter that this lockout may be removed if requested makes me wonder why they even decided to put in in the first place? Clearly they figured players may be displeased with it, so why bother? It's not enough of a lockout to prevent fast progression, just enough to be a serious pain.

After spamming 90minutes of NM and drops 30 minutes cd is like a little break, pee time, shit time and food time and enter again. you'r not going to die for not staying inside the istance 24h/24

That's assuming you take the full 90 minutes. I imagine groups will be clearing faster than that. 30 minutes is the absolute MINIMUM you will have to wait, which is still too long IMO.

If you have 3 hours in a given night to play, it's the difference between going once or going twice.

Given Red Scrip materials can apparently be obtained from Airship Exploration, and Red Scrip materials are currently locked behind what are effectively Esoterics (ie, have a weekly cap), I really doubt we're going to see that lock out removed in any significant way... It is the same logic as Treasure Maps having an 18 hour allowance, or Beast Tribe quests being a Daily thing. If there was no lock out, the rewards could just be farmed endlessly.

If you want to do only that in your 3hrs free I think will be a bit boring after a while :/ like spamming duty roulette EX all the times... I don't think this content is thought for staying inside all day and leaving out all the rest (IMHO)

Has it even been clarified that it's not 2 hours after leaving the duty rather than the countdown starting once you have begun your mission?

But they said it will be an open world content or at least it came across like that.

@OP, I am not concerned about the lock-out as much as the fact they made it instanced. If by any chance they decide to make you queue with 8x9 players then I believe we are going to see a Guinness record for the longest queue in a MMO game.

The countdown starts after you enter, not when you finish.

From what I understand from the live letter is that the 2 hour cd begins once you reach the island. So if you spend 90 minutes there, you only need to wait another 30 minutes.

It sounded to me like this would be a special instance... Rather than it going "There are 9 islands, 1 party of 8 each, we need to wait for 72 people to queue", it would go "8 people have queued, lets put them on an island", then when 8 more queue, they'll be on a different island. Basically it is open world, you just have to go through the Duty Finder to reach it? Not too sure, it also sounded like, for the Free Company exclusive version, you could effectively enter duo (although given the Free Company instance is the hardest, that seems ill advised). This would fit with all the talk before, about how you could enter and find another party and stuff. Basically your group could go in, and find another group already doing stuff, the same way you could go to Northern Thanalan and find a group already grinding FATEs.

With that in mind, the cooldown actually makes even more sense, you don't want people essentially just being able to camp the place non-stop...
