FFXI crossover event

Did they say anything about what the FFXI cross over event is going to be? Use to play FFXI had a bunch of lv99s.

If they had, I'm sure it would be in the answer in the post in the thread...? o.o

We already had an XI cross over. It's come and gone twice and will likely not return. Shantotto showed up and fought us in some FATEs and gave you a Wind Up Shantotto and threatened to come back and set your pants on fire if you mistreat it.

They said they are doing another XI event because its the last patch cycle for them.

There's going to be another crossover event? First I've seen word of this. Haven't really thought about it given they hadn't done one since the first the year before last. The Lightning event was a special case because it was commemorating the game's two release dates (I think. Japanese and International releases if I recall). The XI and Dragon Quest events were for giggles mostly, though I think the Dragon Quest one was to commemorate Dragon Quest X? Either way, those two events have yet to be repeated in the near two years since, not really seeing what's changed in XI since then to warrant a repeat.

New FFXI Grand Finale Collab

F: We’re getting close to the ending. But we have a very special announcement. We’ve said 11/10 is when the patch is released. 11/11 is when the last patch for final fantasy xi will be released.
Y: Because of this momentous occasion we’ve decided to another new eleven collaboration event to coincide with the grand finale of that game. We think you can enjoy it either by doing the 11 finale first and then enjoying the collaboration event OR by doing fourteen’s event and then returning even after a long time to finish eleven. Please look forward to it.

Yeah, from what was stated it seems this event will be brand new and will not simply be the earlier FFXI crossover event with Shantotto repeated - given the fact the reason for running this is to coincide with FFXI's storyline ending event Rhapsodies of Vana'diel it's probable therefore this new event will have some connection to that (possibly involving that Far Eastern girl (Aroha I believe her name is?) from Vana'diel's future who is the central character of the event, or something).

But I guess we'll find out. :)

Though I expect it'll just be story fluff with Iroha showing up and confusing people who haven't kept up with Rhapsodies, and then we temporal fed ex her back to FFXI.
