Basic Tank Guide :D

Hi everyone!

Me and a group of friends decided to put together a basic tank guide for new players. We have lots of friends who decided to play the game so we thought writing a guide would be helpful. If anyone has any inputs on it to make it better that would be great!

We welcome criticisms! We want to make a guide that would be helpful for new tanks :)

This was a great read. I'm a fresh tank and I got some good stuff out of this :) It's worded well and easy to grasp.

Criticisms...I think it would be good to talk about the emnity generating skills. Like how much emnity can be generated by using a rotation skill like savage blade. Definitely a great description with Provoke, maybe you speak about Flash and Overpower some? Sometimes as a beginner I wind up either panicking and spamming flash too much or I wind up using it too little and losing mobs. It's probably more my lack of experience and not having a tank stance yet...

That's a good recommendation. Could even flesh it out to discuss "AoE tanking" a tiny bit.

It's more thourough then I would have guessed. I guess my only little grips is in the paladins con section. I would leave out the magic damage thing as all of their active cooldowns with the exception of bulwark affect magic damage. Sentinel, rampart, and awareness all still apply.

Maybe just a reword so that it doesnt seem like it cant mitigate magic damage at all. Just is a little misleading. Although they do have the hardest time with it.

If DRK has the weakest physical defense, then I'm the Pope. Correction: DRK has the highest magical defense (You were right!), though more vulnerable than the PLD, DRK is much more sturdy than WAR on all accounts.

Nah. Just because a WAR can inner beast practically 24/7 doesn't make it any sturdier.

not that it matters, Just a few adjustments to enmity and DRG could practically tank everything outside of savage....

You're quite silly. WAR's CDs can more handle all dmg overall. DRK's CDs are more geared towards magic def. Fact is, a good WAR is going to be better at mitigating dmg overall than a DRK, simply because of the toolset. Plus, Holmgang > Living Dead.
