Am I wrong in assuming that making a Xaela healer is a dumb idea? I know many people say in endgame those stats don't matter, but I had luck with my other character since I chose keeper of the moon, which is ideal with 23 mind. Xaela on the other hand has only 17, 6 points difference... does that really not matter in endgame? Maybe I'll just stick with Warrior, since that's what I made him for in the first place anyways.
I was wondering why my mind was so low when I started playing him...

It's really not a huge deal. Especially when you consider people have over 1000 mind nowadays. Just play whichever race you like the most. :D

Classes/Jobs gain passive buffs in their respective Primary stat that's makes race selection completely aesthetic; they had to do this to make the class change system work.

Race stats in XIV is not a huge deal like it was on XI. Just choose whichever race you like the most. Can also use a fantasia if you end up not like that race.

You are talking about the difference between 5 MND and 3 PIE between the two races. It is literally a difference of 100HP healed and maybe 120MP between the two at lv.60. It doesn't really matter in an endgame where you heal 2000 to 2500hp and with your basic heal and a pool of 11000mp.
You may have a slightly harder start from levels 1 to 10 because of it, but that's the only time the difference will be felt. -

So what I can take from this is all that matters is the aesthetics. That's good since looks is how I got into this dilemma, I just decide can't between Miqo'te/Au'ra, now I really don't have to and can just play both with whatever.

I just changed mine to a Xaela yesterday (three healer main). It is only a few stat points difference, nothing to worry about.
