A Solution to Healer Wipes

If you have a poor healer that keeps dying, afking, disconnects, etc. It is a wipe. Period. You have to hold their hand and teach them or kick them and hope you get a replacement swiftly. Either way, people end up sitting around twiddling their thumbs. We don't pay a sub every month to do that, do we? So I had a thought; why not allow BLM and SMN to cross class Cleric Stance? With this SMN and BLM can use Physick in Cleric Stance for reasonably effective back-up heals. Active Cleric Stance reduces the potency of healing magic by 20%. This would keep SMN and BLM from being able to do any full time healing, but it would make Physick effective enough to be able to make that last push should the worst happen.
Maybe this isn't the solution, but I feel like this is a problem that should be addressed and I can't be the only one (I'm not nearly that special.) I'm just spit balling here, really, but I wanted to know what others thought, if they had other ideas.

Nah. People need to learn to perform their roles. I feel that's all there is to it.

The other problem is that BLM only gets Archer and Arcanist sub-abilities. Cleric Stance, iirc, is Conjurer.

Can you imagine the chaos?

"Oh look, healer is having hard time healing / focusing too much on dps, let me help." - Another wipe due to dps check.

I meant that I think it would help if they allowed SMN and BLM to cross class Conjuror abilities. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I adjusted the wording to reflect that.

Anyhow, I think it's a great idea. SMN/BLM had access to half decent heals when they were fresh level 50s. Not great, but usable. But with the way stats have scaled from 50-60, their base MND values just aren't cutting it. Would be a great way to make SMN/BLM heals usable again without making them overpowered.

Right, SMN and BLM have band-aids and they do nothing. What I'm suggesting is an improvement to their utility so their band-aids could be more akin to a tourniquet.

I completely agree that people should learn to perform their roles better, but unfortunately that is not always the case. Sometimes you don't have a choice, like when you're trying to do dailies. I can't count the number of times I could have saved a run from falling apart if my Physick had just a bit more oomph to it.
