This game is too hard many features requires to much

When Final Fantasy 14 relaunched I was impressed it was better than the original Final Fantasy 14 and better than then EQ clone ff11.

After leaving for a little bit well features such as housing, gold saucer, and a expansion I came back to the feeling of Final Fantasy 11 all over again.

Not much has been improved since I've returned features have been added but it seems only for the higher echelon of players. I played other MMOs during this time another one that had the same issue as FF14 and had a complete overhaul was ESO. Everything was made fun and easy to use. For a smithing career I didn't feel like there was a huge learning curb it was pretty cut and dry.

Better yet the chat system was overhauled to include voice channels for your area, guild and party. Only a minority of people use the typing chat it's amazing to see voice chat added and forced in an area chat (you can log in and out of these chats) and it actually works

Another gripe about this game is it sticks to the old Everquest philosophy that a class cannot be multiple roles it can only be a tank or dps. This is just a terrible concept

Another huge issue is the fact jobs require you like in ff11 fashion to jump through hoops to get. Dark Knights were advertised around the net that when people first play the expansion they will be able to jump right into the job. Sadly they didn't mention this meant having a certain level characters and to have finished the main story line.

I almost wished to get a refund two weeks ago when I found out becoming a Dark Knight was not as cut and dry.

Another issue is housing.... I do not know what's worse making housing limited in an MMO that you want to get people in if more people sub your going to have some angry subs who quit as they can't access half of the game.

Things are too complicated for no reason. I want to plant something I bought some overpriced seeds from the marketplace that only a botanist can make. Go to plant in the soil at my company's house and wtf I need soil? I though the soil was in front of me? What I need to get it from a miner or an over priced marketplace item?

Which brings me back to the marketplace, everything is over priced! Seriously everything is overpriced.

Some NPC armor venders don't sell full sets of armor per level which always leaves me to be under geared unless I had tons of money. Just one piece of chest armor for a level 20 can run into 40,000 Gil.

I mean the story is great and I can forgive some of the mechanics at launch because it was much better than what it was but it seems nothing is improving your adding things for very few people to interact with.

Also the setting is an issue as well. Yes medieval times are nice and all but it would of been nice for a setting like Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VIII. If your going to do an expansion might as well place it in the future cause the forest people faction is just boring. The Litte People sand kingdom feels like it should be a place of scum and villainy but everyone is just kawaii. Don't get me started with the stereotypical blue man group pirate nation.

I expected the game to get better not progressively harder and the majority of content locked off for only those who are rich

Firstly, you can get around the 1000 character per post restriction by going back and editing your first post.

Ironically, what you seem to like is how FFXIV version 1.0 originally had classes - the term 'class' was virtually a misnomer and just a loose assortment of abilities tied to the use of a certain weapon type, and thus you could mix and match abilities from any class to any other.

This actually didn't work as well as it should have, because once again, human nature comes into play - players inevitably just go for the easiest, quickest option, and thus that usually means coming back to setting up a class as the 'holy trinity' of tank, DD and healer. SE thus completely changed the battle and class system in 1.0 to what we now have in ARR, where a class is more or less restricted to a certain role, and upgrades to a 'Job' which is a further specialization in that role. This is what players asked for. SE structured it accordingly.

Actually, they did mention that in order to get to Ishgard you needed to have completed the story on the main FFXIV website, forum and the Heavensward site prior to the expansion launching - Ishgard's access was a part of that story.

Besides, the way DRK and the other two 'extra Jobs' are structured, they're classless and thus require a prior thorough understanding at least of how the battle and Armoury System works, it is not a Job meant for new players just starting. Learn to crawl before you can walk and all that.

The housing situation has been admitted is a problem, but, there is no magic wand they can wave to immediately fix it - really, a lot of the issue was again the stupid player community and SE naively trying to please everyone - players were demanding SE open up private housing before it was truly ready, hence why SE just added it to the same system as Free Company housing, which only compounded the issue.

SE have stated they're working to improve the housing problem (such as adding an 'auto eviction' function that will repossess and relist the land for any house not accessed for a certain length of time, presumably 3 months) so it's not like they're sitting with their heads in the sand over this.

The thing is, that is exactly like gardening in real life - often the natural soil in a location is completely ill suited to what you're actually trying to grow (too sandy, too salty, too dry etc), so it's better to use soil specific to what you're growing to get the most out of the plant - reap what you sow and all that.

It's really not that complicated - this is a game after all, and not a simulation - there has to be some form of challenge.

Uh, that's the whole point - that is capitalism for you, 'supply and demand'. Vendors set the price and adjust it accordingly if they feel something doesn't sell fast enough and raise it if they think it will sell. People will only sell things for what they think others will pay for. I make a habit of only buying off the MB if I can't otherwise source the item from another place (like an npc vendor), or have a friend make it for me.

Yeah, that is odd, but often it's because a lot of vendors are specialists (like, a fieldcraft vendor will only sell tools and gear that harvesters can use). Most npc vendors do not sell accessories so you do need to source these from somewhere else. But 40000 gil for a level 20 piece of gear? Seriously? I think you're either confusing something or else just misread the price. Because I have never seen a level 20 item sold for anywhere near that price in the game at a npc shop.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by this - expansions do not change the fundamental aspects of the game, they usually just add new areas and storyline to it. Also they never introduce everything at once - more will be added with future patches. I think you're being a little unreasonable - SE simply will never be able to make enough content to please everyone all the time. But they try to add as much as they can to benefit as many players as possible.

Uh, you do realize the only FF games to feature a contemporary/'modern' seeming world are FFVII and VIII? (Okay I suppose FFX's Zanarkand was also vaguely futuristic as was FFXIII's Cocoon) - traditionally the worlds and settings of most FF games are rather primitive/medieval in technology and societies. Eorzea is a land on the cusp of the Industrial Revolution, so they still have a long way to go before you will see things like mass media communication, skyscrapers and neon signs. If you're looking for a MMO with a contemporary world and high technology in it's setting you will not find it here.

This is somewhat subjective - 'better' can mean different things to different people, and it just so happens a lot of players actually wanted the game to get harder (a significant portion of the player base in fact), and SE are really only giving players what they're asking for. Having said that, I'm more of a casual player who does not really go in for 'hardcore' or 'endgame' activities, so really hard content does not interest me. But that doesn't mean I hate the game or SE for it - there is still plenty I can do catered to my interests and skill level I can play in this game. So don't be discouraged! I'm sure there is something you can find in this game that will grab your interest - you just have to find it. :)

I'm really sorry if I seemed harsh or nasty towards you - I just wanted to clarify your issues you have with FFXIV, and once again restate that maybe, sadly FFXIV is not really the game for you (and there would be nothing wrong with admitting that - it's a part of life.).

It would be interesting to see a modern setting FF mmo for a change with mounts such as helicopters, motorcycles, cars. Player characters have phones with apps on them. Your friend list is your address book on your phone. I think VII and VIII did a great job of mixing magic and fantasy into modern technology worlds.
