THE HERETIC AMONG US... help?

Okay so, basically i'm a LVL40 BLM who has to do this quest for the storyline. Unlike a few difficult storyline quests, however ( looking at you Oh Captain, My Captain !!! ), my gear was up to date and I had the most powerful wand I could have for a level 40. The problem was the NPCs. I genuinely find it kinda silly for the fact that some of these instances have the goal of protecting a NPC, although they remain EXTREMELY incompetent.

I'm not very sure what to do beyond gaining a couple of levels and hoping that it'll be enough to overpower the inquisitor and the damned wyvern, but I feel like if the NPCs weren't so mindboggingly reckless / stupid ( the healer healed me JUST as I died, and the npcs constantly attacked even when they were about to get hit w/ an AoE attack ), it would've been way more easier. Any tips to make things more manageable?

I do not personally remember this fight (did it 2 years ago) but I remember others like it. Basic strategy is never, never depend on the NPC for anything.
1. As you are BLM, cross class Physick.
2. Get hate on all the enemies, and keep it, never let the NPC be the target.
3. Kite, Kite, Kite (for BLM run away using Scathe, stop running to apply Thunder or Heal yourself).
FYI, kite, keep running away from the enemy so that you are never in attack range; only works well against melee monsters.

I managed to complete it a hour or so ago, but i'll keep that advice in mind in case I make an alt. Thank you!! <3

I had an AWFUL time with this quest, and it's slightly comforting (and irritating) knowing that other lv 40 BLM did as well. I've died about 5 times already. :( Worst NPC's ever.
