Is there a formula that will tell me what my progress would be when trying to craft something?
Basically I just want to know how much craftsmanship I would need to be able to craft a titanium nugget in ONE standard synthesis (the one with 150% efficiency). I would prefer the exact number because I will be buying materia to reach that number and I don't want to waste any gold.
I searched google and could not find it.
According to http://www.ffxivcrafter.com/ running the simulator, 748 craftsmanship would be needed.

I have 684 craftsmanship with my food buff and with that I can go from 0 progress to 320 (100%) in one step of standard synthesis.
The website said it would only net me 292 progress. The website is using the wrong formula or something.
Crafting formulas don't calculate the same with 3.0 recipes as they did in 2.0. I don't think anyone has done the math for them yet considering crafting has been regulated to a hobby.
Simple if its not at 100% then it might as well be 1%..... :confused:
Pray to RNGesus before and after every craft. Sacrifice a few Dodo Birds to the Ram god of Norbiscraftafewbits and hope that your prayers have been heard. And don't forget to leave a few pieces of gil as an offering at every harvest node you visit for that day so that RNGesus blesses you with the gift of HQness.:p
