can someone please tell me what the number means under members online when you hit social free company? top right :)

It simply just shows you the number of members online at the moment that are a part of your FC out of the total amount of members you have total for your FC.

Oh, I'm sorry I guess I misunderstood you this first time, my bad. That number specifically is just how many FC points your FC has collected through various activities in the game, i.e. leveling, crafting, etc.
It's the number of available Free Company points/credits.
