So as the next healer I would love to see a blood mage. Some one that uses their health to cast spells And us dark spells. Never played ff14 1.0 but didn't the thm had spells that took health to retore others health.

The way it works in FF MMOs is 99% of the time jobs are based on previous classes in Final Fantasy games. The closest thing to a job that sacrifices its HP for anything is Dark Knight which historically was a damage dealing job that sacrificed defense and HP for increased damage. Blood Mage is very Dungeons and Dragons/Everquest/Skyrimish.
Ironically what you're describing is very much like the traditional WHM ability 'Sacrifice' (or Martyr as it was called in FFXI) from past FF games, where the caster sacrifices some of their own HP to heal another party member by double or triple the amount. As far as I understand it, THM's original form at the start of FFXIV version 1.0 did indeed have a spell similar to that, but it was removed when the classes and battle system were redesigned in preparation for the addition of Jobs.
Also the CNJ class quests deal with a npc who actually uses this very ability, which slowly is killing her, but the attitude given in those quests was it was actually something taboo that should not be encouraged or taught, so I think this kind of ability probably won't be seen as an actual class in the game I'm afraid.
Would rather have Twin magic. Pair with your soul mate / kin to cast devastating magic!
Or that random bloke in the duty finder.
"We are drift compatible."
Completely dislike this idea. They'd be a pain to manage thru aoe damage in raids.
Also SE's already shown they didn't even like sustain costing HP, so let's just go ahead and (thankfully) call this "not likely to happen."
