Multi-Materia Melding Success?

A question came up in my LS as to whether or not anyone has seen a piece of gear with multiple materia melded to it. I sure haven't seen one yet. I'm curious, have you seen any such gear yet? Or better yet, have you made any? If so, how many attempts did it take?

I don't think anyone except maybe some JP's have access to forbidden materia yet!

I'll throw a guess though. 80>60>40>20% success rate for tiers 2-5 respectively.

Alternatively 50>30>10>5%.

The above guesses are completely wrong.

The first materia on any gear is 100%. Today I tried adding a second materia to several different pieces of gear and they all were between 25%-30%. Based on the screenshot in the patch notes, the third attachment is 15-20%. Anything more than that is going to be lower and extremely impossible.

Soo, possibly 30>20>10>5, if true.

Do certain pieces only allow one attachment? I tried to attach a second piece to an ivory staff and after clicking meld it said "you have no chance of success" or something. Are there other prereqs to do this? I have the augmented melder and was on gsm 50.

Changing gear, repairing the armor to 100%, none of it made the % budge it seems its all materia related.

We have some members with multiple materia on gear. The success rate is terrible (~25% or less?) and depends on the tier of the materia you're using. For example: STR 17 materia has better success rate than STR 18 materia.

So basically if it's tier related, attaching 5 tier IV's is going to be nigh-impossible (we're talking about somewhere around 0,0003% success rates) but having five tier 1, 2 and 3 materias has a higher chance of success.

The demand for items is going to be huuuuge.

I'm not sure if the success rate diminishes with each new materia you add, but yea, overall you're looking at an extremely low success rate on M5 gear with all T4s on it.
