Have you guys tried doing Dragonskin Map solo?

I've tried it solo using SCH and I got the 3 phase mobs. But I'm mad on the last phase, the monster did damage like 3k and it's HP around 20% but I died. :(

How about you guys?

Tried as a DRG, got wrecked.

I tried to solo a Peisteskin back in like 2.4.

I got the #*$&ing Chimera.

Never again (at least not for at-level maps).

You can two man them with DPS chocobos, my BF is WAR and I WHM them. We haven't gotten the vanu vanu map since we've started two-manning them, so I don't know how well we will do on that one.

Have two-manned them WHM/BRD, no chocobos. The dinosaur one was the hardest we've found, most of the rest are a single mob tankable by my BRD partner while I regen/Tetra etc and kite anything else that spawns until it resets, then Assize/Holyspam until death.

Healer and tank/melee dps combo can do it but you can't solo it with current gears.

Been duoing them for ages now with my WHM partner. I am usually a SMN with Titan egi. I also tried BLM at some point but we failed the Vanu one with me BLMing so now we don't risk it anymore. We're pretty much curbstomping them now. (Also the past 5 days, a whole 10 thav silk in total dropped for me!!!!)

WAR + Any healer has enough DPS to nuke down any of the Maps as a 2-man team. We use our choco's to help us get the weekly 100 kills for our birds (Mine's rank 15, 10 attack/9 heal, friends is 9heal.)

The Vanu map in particular is rather violent, however. It's the only one that you're going to be not-sure if you'll clear in time, because for some reason they have REDICULOUS hp values and spawan in groups of 3-4 for 3 waves.

Take 3 people is my advice for your standard player. But if you got a partner you have faith in and a balanced comp (Don't try to do this with just DPS or healer + DPS, some of the mobs hit hard even on my tank) then you should have no problem duo'ing it.

As others have mentioned, I tend to two-man them with a Chocobo out. I play White Mage, my friend used to Black Mage but switched to Dragoon recently due to the gear disparity between them. Dragoons make for surprisingly durable off-tanks, actually. :p

I could see some of them being soloable with some gear behind you, though. Much like the Chimera of Peisteskin maps though, I'd imagine some enemy setups will need a lot more than upgraded Esoterics things. I've been outright murdered by 2 Vinegaroons simultaneously critting me with their auto-attacks and Underbite when being complacent with the CC. :/
