Hello, we just sorted out our raid team for Alexander Savage and I would like to ask everyone who does raid content - is this setup viable for Alexander: SCH,WHM, SMN, BLM,DRG,BRD and two dark knights? Is it possible to do stuff with double dark knight combo?
Hi, I'm currently on A3S and done T13 pre nerf and pre-open, and your team composition for Healers + DPS is fine. The 2 DRKs, while possible, is highly unoptimal. For one thing, in your entire party, your lacking a Slash resistance down, which means that the DPS of both the tanks go down. As it stands, all of Alex Savage has massive DPS checks, so you can't afford to lose DPS in any part of your party. Second, by not running a WAR, you lack not only Storms Eye, but Storms Path as well, which is extremely recommended, and in some instances, mandatory. Not only that, but by swapping 1 DRK to WAR, you gain the best synergy for tanks, as WAR buffs DRK DPS, and Reprisal + Path stacks, which is the best raid wide mitigation in the entire game, as it lowers the boss damage output by 20%. No other tank combination comes close to this.
Long story short: 2 DRKs are holding back the group. Replace a DRK with WAR because of its absurd utility and best OT DPS and you're set.
