Buying A Realm Reborn
Hi everyone! i've been checking out FFXIV with the free trial on these days, and i realy like it, the community and the game in general, i have a few questions about buying A realm reborn (unfortunately i cant affort Heavensward), like: do i get free time when i bought ARR?, it is worth only buy ARR? (like on PvP, PvE and that stuffs), the only way to get game time is with real money?.
I'll appreciate if anyone can help me :D
(sorry for the bad english, is not my main language)

Yes, you get a free 30-day sub when you first buy ARR.
If you don't have enough money to afford Heavensward right now, then it's okay to just get ARR.
There is no way to convert in-game rewards to subscription time, so yes real money is the only way to get game time.

Thanks! i'll check out how many cost the game time, and hopefully i can get into Eorzea!

I, too, just went with buying ARR. I don't have a ton of time these days to devote to video games, so I knew it would take me quite some time to even get to the expansion's content (I've been playing for probably almost a month and I'm still only lvl34 or something in my main job lol). I haven't run into any issues with not having the expansion yet aside from not being able to make a character of that new race.

By the way, the PS3 and PS4 versions of ARR are on sale right now (through noon Pacific time on 9/15) on the PlayStation store.
$10 if you're a PlayStation Plus member, or $12 if you're not.

To the OP... your english is just fine! Not sure if you've played other MMOs, but FF is a bit different. Depending on how much time you put in, it could be quite a while before you get to the Heavensward content. It's a very story driven game and there is a LOT to do before you even think about the xpac's content. Square actually kinda locks you out of that xpac content until you finsish the main storyline... some may grumble, but I think it's a good thing.
AND the folks around this section are very helpful, and this is from someone who has decent experience in an MMO (ilvl 700 Fire Mage over there!). I ask a LOT of questions!

Yeah ,you get 30 days free time when you bought the game. I used to be like you when i just bought the game, thinking have i made the right decision? quitting GW2, and starting on FFXIV. As for my case, i think its worth it. The contents are good enough and i cant get enough of the gold saucer!! Lmao. And dont worry about the language, im pretty sure everyone here is helpful! Have fun mate

Well thats realy nice to know, i thought that maybe i could run out of things to do without Heavensward, and yeah, i've heard that the community here is realy friendly, and i can see it now, thanks for all the answers :D
Oh, and i'm playing on a PC, but thanks for the information about the cost on PS3 and PS4 :)

Glad you like the game, and be warned it could be addictive :)
Heavansward i would not worry about too much as you would actually need the entire story line up until 3.0 complete just to gain access to the expansion.
So take your time and have fun :D
