Please keep it related to lore. "OMG I WNT A SUBMEREEN!!" doesn't quite cut it. Pitch it as if you were in front of Yoshi P himself. :-)

I really want to see Doma and the remains of the island with the Baldesians. Of all places, Doma should be the city that offers out Samurai (as found with Cyan Garamonde in FF6). It would make sense that the place where Ninjas (Lady Yugiri did bring the art over) came from is also the place where Samurais reside. I think it would tie in very well with airship travel -- if they could travel to Eorzea by boat, it has to be a relatively close distance. I don't think I'd want to travel underwater or to the moon yet, primarily because WoW did this and really disassociated itself with the continent. There's so much more of Hydaelyn to explore and no Final Fantasy ever explored outside planets without first exploring the entire home planet.
Personally, I would want SE to finish up with Eorzea itself before moving out to the wider world (Doma was stated during the 2.2/2.3 story as being a dead county that was completely wiped out the Empire so really I don't see there any pressing need to go there at this time), and given Ala Mhigo is now the only remaining Eorzean city state still to be accessed, heading there and finally freeing it from Garlean occupation would be an obvious choice for the game's story to proceed to. I admit I'm biased towards wanting to go to Ala Mhigo though as it is my character's birthplace according to the backstory I've written for her. ;) But I guess we'll see. :)
I'd quite like an Ala Mhigo/Garlemald expansion, but with a time skip in between, similar to 1.0 to 2.0. Would be quite nice to have another "Five Years Later" situation, during which places like the Castrums can be removed and Revenant's Toll can be fully expanded into New Doma, perhaps have those kids grow up and become actual adventurer's (who replace the Scions!). Primals can be retired as instance fights and instead the old roaming Primals concept can be introduced (perhaps as something alone the lines of Besieged/Campaign?). Several of the old dungeons could be turned into actual zones. Old content we might miss can see a return, either in the same way Rivenroad came back, or through everyone's favorite Minstrel. Perhaps see some real headway on certain plot points like Crystal Tower, since the existing questline/content would now be gone and the story can simply say everyone did it, the same way Nael van Darnus happened regardless of one playing 1.23 or not.
It would be nice for the game world to actually feel like its moving forward at some point... We had Revenant's Toll, and that was nice and all, but I can't see them doing that in a particularly relevant way... Northen Thanalan will always be a battlefield between the Garleans and Immortal Flames, because the existing story demands it. The majority of the world is always going to feel the same as when we started because of that. I'd like to see those Castrums finally dealt with, but the only way to really do that is to either have a complete reset, or to create a "future" version of each zone. To me we might as well just reset everything, because the old zones will just become irrelevant anyway. Perhaps I'm bias, but I felt the Legacy campaign was really great, having that sense of "I did this" for something that's no longer possible, and the lead up to that final day was amazing, even if the final event was an utter disaster.
I really quite liked the transition between 1.0 and 2.0, would be nice to have something like that again, though perhaps with slightly less Calamity this time... Who am I kidding, the Warring Triad are right there...
But yeah... Another time skip would be nice... All the current plot points can just become part of the history and lore of the game, new players could perhaps jump right into Dark Knight/etc., since Ishgard will have already opened its gates... All the existing zones could see interesting new adjustments, right off the bat old zones could get flying. Perhaps the Illuminati gets kicked out of Sharalyn and it gets rebuilt (Idllyshire is nice and all, but its so small, not to mention one loose rock away from plummeting away...). Maybe Ishgard moves back into Dravania and the Forelands/Churning Mists could see a return to their glory days... Who knows, would be really exiting to see though, if a lot of work...
I would really love to see some "Far-East" expansion like ToAU in FFXI. In XIV's predecessor, FFXI, both NIN and SAM were unlocked in the same place--Norg (irrc!), so it would make "sense" if we were to have the hypothetical Samurai class to be of Doman descent. ToAU was super fun, and it would be awesome if we had something like Besieged in 14. Don't misunderstand me, I am well aware that FF11 and FFXIV are two beasts of their own.I am not sure really how an "underwater" expansion would play into XIV realm, unless it was a water-heavy themed expansion area that allowed for swimming and NOT something like WoW's cataclysm underwater zone. I think that would be hard to write lore and gaming wise, but it would be interesting if we had a Leviathan-heavy themed expansion.
I would just really enjoy an expansion with a theme/atmosphere such as Seekers of Adoulin or Treasures of Aht Urghan.
Expedition to Meracydia
Meet bunny girls and guys, travel to the origin of miqo'te, see the world on Tiamat's back
AU is "Near East." Ul'Dah is clearly intended to be the AU reference in the game, all the way to having a the middle eastern architecture, an Empress, Immortals, and Raubahn. It's a lot less exotic than XI's unfortunately, but that's what we're getting. I absolutely wouldn't mind a more exotic near eastern country, however.
I'd like to see how XIV approached an SoA-styled environment as well, because I feel as if XI's technical limitations really held it back, stylistically, and the limited funding restricted possible lore. That being said, Inner Ra'Kaznar is absolutely stunning for a game this age and screens don't really do it justice.
My own wish is simple, but because I don't really feel like defending it so it's not in the spirit of the thread, I'll just put it in spoiler tags.
I'd like to go to the moon next, because Ascians. I love Ascians.
More War of the Magi, especially since the warring 3 nations are really the predecessors of the modern city-states we have now. Depending on Omega story-line, it would almost be poetic in the sense that the 3 once peaceful nations are slowly warring with each other due to greed and distrusting each other.
There's too much focus on the Allagans and not on the other ancient civilization, it would be nice to learn more about these individuals who can harness aether directly and are, in essence, mini primals.
Maybe find out that the Lambs of Dalamud learned about WHM/BLM and since they're a cult, are rapidly expanding and teach people the Forbidden arts.
Otherwise, Ala Mhigo is prime expansion material: they have resistance fighters, Ilberd/Rauban, the prince who was hidden in a MNK monastery .... who just might be the MNk quest-giver himself!
Also Sharlayan; I haven't finished my AST job quests yet, but from what I learned in 3.0 I am starting to truly doubt them
If they go with the underwater theme, then I'd like to go to the Sharlayan archipelago. It would make sense as it is across the Bloodbrine Sea and is literally just a series of islands. Plus, if the whole "Red Mage and Samurai" hint from the Rising is any indicator, then Sharlayan would make a lot of sense, as they seem to lead the world in magic research, and are historians, so they would make sense with both of those jobs. And I think there have been a fair number of hints to us going there so far with this expansion.
I'd like to see a expansion where in the history the adventure would travel throughs dimensions stepping on alternate possiblites versions of events that happened through the story, and stepping on past and even future events( like stepping middle war of magi and when the allgan empire is on their prime)
Seeing high-tiers of voidsents consuming infinite universes and high-level technology from a secret branch that still exists from the allagan that can nullify and with help even fight those monsters things, and you have to send they back
Also with we travelling to those other dimensions and other place seeing the origin of races, lost classes and things from the world(red mage, blue mage, samurai, etc) and its lore
New job classes and new skills, decent looking and new summons for summoners
i could list thousands of things(including classes, their skills , new quests, etc, etc) i wanted but those were the first to pop on my mind so those go then.
