Why on earth would a weaver stack x99 as a botanist in 10 minutes when other crafts take me one full hour to just get 30 skins from wyverns, which barely make 10 leathers, with which you can craft an average of 3 items !
And all the materias for leatherworker and alchemist requiere the same grind.
Do you have a grudge against LTH and ALC or something ?

No they don't hate you.
They hate bots and rmts the bots are to blame for it they have to spread the mobs out so BLM bots can't just spam aoes for the drops to sell. So they also have to make the rng higher on this stuff.
Or sadly the people who actually play but use bots to farm mats. Yes its the bots they hate not players your sadly just friendly fire. -

Preventing the bots from farming makes sense. What doesn't is that it should be the same for all. There are just as many BOT/MIN bots as there are some BLM. There are a lot of workaround about this issue such as make the flying mount necessary, spawn more fates where the gathering/ killing occur, place the mobs/spots on different level which can be reached by only humans with control of their mouse/controller, get some drops in dungeons, adjust the drop ratio according to the player's level or even according to the weather outside, just like fishing.
Just saying it's meant to prevent bots from grinding is not enough of a good reason to me. Definitely not. -
