AST Celestial Opposition, Aspected Helios etc.

Hi everyone. First of all I'm very happy to say that now I'm a proud astrologian and I left scholar to read cards. :P
the re-balance we received in august was pretty good expecially because astrologian is competitive and people should be free to choose the healer they prefer to play in endgame... so, no complains or flames are intended.

Anyway, there are 2 feedbacks I would like to give to the Dev Team, hoping they read this post.

First, Celestial Opposition.
At the moment this ability is beautiful, and it is most used to:
- stun during big pulls in dungeons
- to increase the duration of Luminiferous Aether or Wheel of Fortune regen or a expanded balance.

Anyway, what I find strange is that it is a lvl60 ability. I mean, White Mages get Tetragrammaton and Scholars get Dissipation. Both this ability are strong enough to be lvl 60 abilities. Celestial Opposition looks like something that has been nerfed.
+5s + stun ... mh, do I miss anything?
I also remember when I asked the question during one of the first live letters, Yoshi said that they were going to change in some way both Collective Unconscious and Celestial Opposition.
I hope they are still working on Celestial Opposition.
I think it should have some Aoe-heal like Assize or something like Deployment Tactics that spreads the buffs.

My second consideration goes to Aspected Helios. I'm ok with this ability having less regen potency then Medica II (40 vs 50) but I just don't get why this ability must have a very lower radius then Medica II. -5y means that it can be really really hard to provide a regen to everyone during Alexander Savage 1 and 4.
Astrologians seem to lack in AOE-healing and I don't agree with this decision because both scholar and white mage are in a good position.
Of course, WHM will shine because of Cure III, Assize, Asylum, Medica II. Scholar has Emergency Succor, Indomitability, Whispering Dawn.
AST have Helios (similar to Emergency Tactics Succor and Medica) and Aspected Helios (with very smaller radius then medica II) and Collective Unconscious (that anyway feels less confortable then Asylum because you have to channel it but it is ok).
Of course I understand that all the three healers must be different and have strength and weaknesses. But I don't really think that giving +5y to Aspected Helios and a dignity to Celestial Opposition would create problems or would make AST "op".

What do you think about it? Am I the only one who would appreciate these changes?

It's been nerf before launch, like Time dilation. It was expected to be a skill with the purpose to change stance during fights, and with a longer stun.

I don't know if it's a bit strong, but spread card buffs to everyone is a good idea.

Aspected helios radius is fine as it is. Aspected helios in nocturnal sect has the same radius than Succor for more potent. A 20y better succor is not really needed. It's nice but dispensable.

Personally I don't have an issue with the radius for Aspected Helios. Maybe because I always played Scholar in the 2.0 days and got accustomed to the radius of their heals, but I do agree about Celestial Opposition. I get what they were going for. It's basically an AoE version of Time Dilation with a stun effect attached to it with the intent of mimicking the effects of Celestial Stasis. Thing is, the story establishes that Celestial Opposition and Celestial Stasis are two very different things. With that said I don't really see the need for them to cling to that added stun effect. It could do something different. When I consider what other effect it could have I can easily see it acting as an instant AoE heal with a moderate to low potency. Alternatively, having it extend buffs by 10 seconds instead of 5 would go a long way. In any case, with the way Celestial Opposition is right now it feels just a little underwhelming for a level 60 ability and I would like to see it adjusted in some way. Having the cooldown reduced was a welcomed change, but there's still more to be desired.

Aspected Helios has 15y most likely for the same reasons the vast majority of AoE heal spells have 15y - because it's the norm. Succor, Medica, Helios, Whispering Dawn, Indomitability, and Assize all have a 15y radius and I'm pretty certain Aspected Helios was intended to be the same.

The only exceptions to this 15y rule are both in the WHM toolkit - Medica II (20y) and Cure III (6y).


In terms of the lack of AoE power, I'm okay with that. Lightspeed + Helios is generally a really inexpensive way to get everyone topped off and that's the strength of AST healing. It's generally cheaper (especially with Lightspeed) versus the raw power and cost that both SCH and WHM need to heal that much on the fly.

I would apreciate a buff to CO
Just like you said, its a lv60 ability, it should be awesome and super useful.
(WHMs Tetra is awesome,SCHs Dissipation....not that much....)
All jobs learn some pretty epic AND useful lv60 abilities our is beautiful but the effect is just...meh.
I would love a healing potency just like Assize/Indom both SCH and WHM have one why shouldn't we have one too? We need more emergency tools.
Or add a buff that decrease draw's recast time for its duration or add a regen effect to everyone, or a barrier...or BOTH, i don't know something more reliable that can save a party from a wipe (just like both WHM and SCH can with Assize/Indom) y'know
