Aetherflows/trails
I don't know if it's a bug or it's just now that I'm playing SMN more or whatever, but I've noticed that a lot of times when I use an aetherflow stack, it doesn't count towards aethertrail stack.
I just finished a hunt of the A dino in forelands. My dots were up and I used fester three times and none of those times counted towards the aethertrail stack. Can fester miss or does it not always give you a stack of aethertrail? It's kind of confusing.

It should always give you a stack. Did the enemy come invulnerable at all? If it became invulnerable after your dots were on it (ala second boss of the library), fester won't have an affect and won't get you an aethertrail. I mean since it does do damage, it CAN miss but you have to have really low accuracy I think for that to happen.

If you use Bane and it doesn't hit anyone, it won't count. If you use Fester and there weren't DoTs active (or you used it before the DoTs truly registered on the boss), it won't count. If the boss was otherwise invulnerable, ED/Fester/Bane/Painflare won't count.
Basically whatever you use has to do its intended effect for it to give Aethertrail.

I've experienced occasional latency issues which caused 1.Skill to fire off 2.Aetherflow stack consumed 3.Damage dealt to target yet no Aethertrail stack increase.
Your situation seems weird though, unless your connection is terrible, having 3 Festers in a row not add to aethertrail doesn't seem likely. Like others have said, could it be that the mob didn't have your DoTs on it? (Seeing how it is a hunt mob where I assume everyone applies their own DoTs which has a first come first serve priority.
-
Are you sure the dots on the mob registered? Did you see them? Because every mob can have a maximum of 60 dots/debuffs, anything applied after that will not register, which is not an uncommon thing to happen on A/S ranks. In that case, fester gives no aethertrail because it does no damage.
-
O.O I think the max is 30. On a ps3/4 you can only see 2 rows of 15. It's annoying in the 2.0 24 man raids.

It is correct that only 1-30 are displayed (dame for all systems), 31-60 are still applied, though. Everything after that is not.
