Suggestion: Multiple Glamour System!...

Hello Square Enix!.

I would like to suggest one feature I’m sure would revolutionize what we know so far, that is the Multiple Glamour System or let’s call it MGS for short!.

What I propose with the MGS is that every single glamour-able piece of gear has 6 glamour “slots” instead of a single one, like this:

|___________.- Slot 1
|___________.- Slot 2
|___________.- Slot 3
|___________.- Slot 4
|___________.- Slot 5
|___________.- Slot 6

That way we could glamour up to six appearances to the same piece of gear and have much more freedom when choosing what to wear without the single look limitation, the Armory Chest would be so much more versatile and I doubt the space limitations would be much of an issue anymore!.

As much as this is exactly how I wished the glamour system worked in the game, and in fact, it was apparently how the development team wanted it to function originally, if I remember correctly they stated back during the later stages of the Beta test that they discovered that due to technical problems with how equipment is encoded in the game, programming such a glamour system would be too problematic, hence they went with the glamour prism system that we have now.

Considering the thirteen-year-old FFXI now has a glamour system that is far superior to this (all you have to do is click a button in the Config menu and it 'locks' your appearance to whatever you happen to be wearing at that time), the glamour system is one of the few things about ARR that I think didn't quite work as well as it could have. Having said that though, I am still thankful that we even have a glamour system in the game, I just think it could have been handled better, but then I guess, you win some, you lose some.

So sadly I don't think we'll ever see much of a change to how the glamour works other than perhaps a slight lessening of restrictions with it. :(

A cheaper and easier way (dev wise) would be making glamours gear set specific, that way job specific glamours wouldn't be a problem on shared items. And we could glamour the same item multiple times like OP suggested without increasing the "weight" of each item on the database (looking at you ps3)

This game really fails at offering quality character customization. The glamour system in particular is... extremely lacking, to put it kindly. Being able to save multiple glamour sets would definitely be a massive improvement.
