Increase the Spawn Rages of Soil and Seeds

Greetings,

So, now that 3.0 has been out for a while I've noticed that fewer and fewer people are doing gardening, meaning that fewer and fewer people are gardening the materials required for gardening. I thought, I've got my DoHs up to 60 I'll just go get the mats myself, how hard can it be? 30 minutes later, I got my first Grade 2 Thanalan soil.

Does anyone else find that a bit extreme? I'm sure I'm not the median here but it's a bit over the top that I have to spend more than 10 minutes to get 1 soil. I still need 11 more.

Its been 15 months and I still have no Titanic Saw Fish, 10 minutes? Grade 3 takes 24 in game hours. Grade 2 is a breeze.

So, make a post on the forums about it. Don't come to another thread about another topic and spew hatred and belittle other people's grievances. Also, judging how your highest DoH is 51 something tells me you're not farming it very hard to begin with.

Was just merely saying 10 minutes is nothing and far from extreme. What is with people lately, so bitter.

It didn't take me 10 minutes it took me 30. I was just guessing what the average is and it's not a matter of bitterness. You just dropped in here, specifically to say, your problems were way worse than mine. I'm just curious what the point of that is? If you have a problem about the game make a post about it like I did. Don't drop in someone else's thread and start saying your problems are worse than their's. You're just asking for backlash.

I'll debate whether or not seed/soil drop rates are acceptable all day, but don't compare it to another problem... It's a lot easier to get seeds than finish AS4, but that doesn't mean that seed drop rates are acceptable.

I have no problems. I'm good. Certain things in game take time to gather, its how it is. Its not extreme or unfair, its just the way of it. Like I said was just a comparison about gathering items, that was the point. You didn't agree with it and thats fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.I don't believe I was trying to say my problem (that I don't have) is worse than yours. They make rare items that way for a reason, because its rare. If it was readily available it wouldn't be rare.

I would be happy if i could at least increase the yield. Im the only gatherer / gardener in my fc. I go after grade 3 shroud for choco food and grade 3 than for crosses. If you have the stats, skip grade 2 with its rng and move up to grade 3.

I agree with the OP, grade 1 and 2 soil are obviously too rare for their limited usefulness. It's less work to get grade 3, which is clearly not right. Seems like they tried to design gardening to be really grindy in general, which is its own separate and equally mystifying problem.

Grade 1 and 2 soils simply aren't worthwhile, it's true. There are certain seeds, though, which are important to have; Almond seeds and Mandrake seeds, for example.

I think they intended Luck of the Mountaineer/Pioneer to at least partially address this problem. On a 5-gather node, popping Leaf Turn II at the start, and following up with a Prune II if you manage to get two consecutive HQ gathers gives you a 65% chance to force the seeds to appear. (Or maybe it'd be better to start with Leaf Turn II and spam Prune with every hit? Too lazy to do the math.). It won't guarantee results by any stretch of the imagination, but it's significantly better than just relying on the base RNG of the seeds popping.
